Written by on April 18, 2024

Manchester City midfielder, Rodri has taken a jibe at Real Madrid after the Spanish La Liga leaders managed to defeat the Premier League giants in the Champions League quarter-final second leg tie on Wednesday.

Recall that Rodrygo put Real Madrid in front but a second half goal from Kevin De Bruyne restored parity.

However, Carlo Ancelotti’s side advanced to the semi-final, thanks to a 4-3 penalty shootout victory.

Speaking at his post-match interview, Rodri, who feels Pep Guardiola’s side should have defeated Madrid, insisted that he only saw one team [Man City] during the encounter.

According to him, the Los Blancos know how to suffer.

The Spainaird said: “I saw only one team today, to be honest.

“They defended and they knew how to suffer and we know how tough Real Madrid is. But, in my opinion, we should go through, in terms of chances and everything.

“It’s the trickiness of the competition. They know how to play, congratulations to them.”
